It crushes Roland and Yamaha in that respect. And it sounds amazing. Not to mention that the Strike Editor software Mac PC is coming soon which will provide even more flexibility with creating your own kits. The module also has eight individual outputs, which is great for recording or if you want to run triggers to different channels while playing live. A few things to mention Be patient. This is brand new to market and its been back ordered. I ordered mine on April 3. June 1. 2th. Before you do anything, make sure that the firmware on the module is version 1. If it is version 1. Mac or PC and update it. It is a must, as it vastly improves trigger settings and the hi hat performance. Most negative reviews were from before this update. Rumor has it that another firmware update is on the way. Once you do that, you should have a pretty easy go of tweaking the kit to your own playing style. Personally, I love this kit. It has met or exceeded my expectations in almost every area. I would highly recommend it for drummers from beginners to gigging professionals. For an Alesis set, I am pleased. I give it 3. 5 stars.
